Really?
Look, John Smoltz is a great pitcher, probably one of the top 40-50 in baseball history, and reaching 3000 K's is a pretty impressive accomplishment, even if strikeout numbers have been historically high over Smoltz's career. Still. isn't this headline a bit much? I mean, surely no one thinks Smoltz is "greater" than this guy or this guy or this guy, right?

John Smoltz is the absolute greatest pitcher ever to have reached 3,000 strikeouts within the memory of the 15-year-old pothead who writes headlines for MLB.com.
You forgot Curt Schilling.
Schilling was too obvious to mention.
Also, Pedro reached it last fucking year and is a zillion times better than Smoltz (or, for that matter, any other pitcher in baseball history, but that's another story).
You just said Curt Schilling is better than Roger Clemens.
